3 Bedrooms • 1 Bathroom 1 Bath • Sleeps 1-5Highland Sage is located in the heart of downtown on a quiet neighborhood street. Park your car and walk everywhere. Five-minute walk to the center of restaurants and shops. Seven-minute walk to the Nature Trail that goes up to Fort Lewis Collage and with sweeping overlook of town, the Animas River, and Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. And at the end of the day, return to rest out in the lush backyard or cozy interior.
Highland Sage has three bedrooms, with the queen bedroom on one side of the kitchen and living room and a double room and single twin on the other side, allowing for some privacy even across the cozy home. Kitchen is equipped with stainless steel cookware and beautiful dishware, as well as some speciality food prep items and organic basics. The home is set up to truly feel like home and allow you to relax, sleep well, and have a perfect home base for your time in Durango.
The kitchen is equipped with extensive cabinets, making it easy to settle in for a longer stay. Likewise, the front entry area is a great place for storing gear and being ready to with ease get out and enjoy the town and mountains. All beds are solid and plush. Sleeping well is key to a good vacation.. Evaporative cooling in the Summer additionally provides for restful nights.
In addition to Main Avenue and downtown, hiking and biking trails including the Nature Trail and Sky Steps are within a few blocks of the home. The neighborhood is pedestrian and dog-friendly and the block on which Highland Sage resides is especially quiet and peaceful, surprisingly so for being so close to downtown. It is an oasis in the midst of a bustling town.
Guests are welcome to bring a dog, provided the pup does not get on furniture or beds; the fee is $75 per stay or $200 per month per dog. No more than two dogs are permitted. Friendly and low-key dispositions are best suited for the pedestrian nature of the neighborhood.
You may be interested in also checking out the vacation rental next-door, the Purple Juniper, which is a two-bedroom home with similar amenities. I look forward to hosting you at one or both of homes in this peaceful, downtown neighborhood.
